The new owners, Alison and Geoffrey Golden, bought The Circus  Restaurant in November 2006 and promptly closed it!

They then proceeded, over the next 14 months, to renovate the whole property in every respect. This also included building and equipping a new kitchen which is more than three times the size of the old kitchen.

They re-opened for business on Wednesday 9th January 2008 and the restaurant has been busy ever since.

Alison Golden, with 24 years experience, is head chef.

They have a simple vision. This is a family-run restaurant; serving seasonal, carefully sourced, freshly cooked British food; at honest prices; with a relaxed atmosphere; in one of Bath's most beautiful settings.

To quote from a review of The Circus Cafe and Restaurant in March 2008 edition of Bath Life:

"It may have only opened in January, but you already have to book in advance to make sure of a table. The Circus combines style with affordability, and offers simply presented, top quality food served by personable young staff - everything, in short, that you need from your favourite local restaurant".
